§ 2.32.070. Neighborhood justice center.

  • (a) The neighborhood justice center, as outlined in NRS 244.1607, is established to provide dispute resolution services, training, information and referral, mediation and a SELF help center for residents of Clark County. The intent is to provide services throughout the county through in person service, Internet, kiosks, videoconferencing and/or telephone.

    (b)

    Pursuant to NRS 4.063, the justice of the peace shall, on the commencement of any action or proceeding in the justice court for which a fee is required, and on the answer or appearance of any party in any such action or proceeding for which a fee is required, charge and collect a fee of ten dollars from the party commencing, answering or appearing in the action or proceeding. The fee required pursuant to this section is in addition to any other fee required by law. The fee is to be used to fund the neighborhood justice center programs and services.

    (c)

    Pursuant to NRS 19.0313, the clerk of the Eighth Judicial District Court shall, on the commencement of any civil action or proceeding in the District Court for which a filing fee is required, and on the filing of any answer or appearance in any such action or proceeding for which a filing fee is required, charge and collect a fee of ten dollars from the party commencing, answering or appearing in the action or proceeding. The fee required pursuant to this section is in addition to any other fee required by law. The fee is to be used to fund the neighborhood justice center programs and services.
