§ 1.14.060. Initial review of citation.

Latest version.
  • Any recipient of an administrative citation may request an initial review of the citation within five days from the date the administrative citation is served or deemed to have been served, by the issuing officer's supervisor to contest that there was a violation of the Clark County Code or that he or she is the responsible person. The request may be made by telephone, in writing or in person, and may include any relevant information. There shall not be a charge for the review. The review shall not be an adversarial proceeding, but an examination of the case file and relevant information. The review shall be conducted within five days of the request. If, following the initial review, the supervisor is satisfied that the violation did not occur, that the person cited was not responsible for the violation, or that extenuating circumstances make dismissal of the citation appropriate in the interest of justice, the supervisor shall cancel the citation. The supervisor shall mail the results of the initial review to the person contesting the citation, and, if following the review, cancellation of the citation does not occur, include a reason for that denial and notification of the ability to request an administrative hearing.
