§ 6.14.060. Quarterly master business license fee—Owners and/or operators.

  • (a) Every owner and/or operator of a monorail or fixed guideway transportation system within the county must have a valid unexpired monorail master business license issued pursuant to this chapter and pay a quarterly business license fee that shall be due not later than thirty calendar days after the end of each calendar quarter.

    (b)

    The quarterly business license fee for an owner and/or operator of a monorail or fixed guideway transportation system licensed pursuant to this chapter that is required to obtain a franchise agreement pursuant to Chapter 5.04 of this code shall be:

    (1)

    Whichever is the greater of:

    (A)

    The guaranteed minimum payment of twelve thousand five hundred dollars per quarter, as adjusted annually by increases in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as described in subsection (b)(1)(D) of this section;

    (B)

    One-half of one percent of gross revenues per quarter.

    (C)

    The quarterly business license fee for an owner and/or operator of a monorail or fixed guideway transportation system licensed pursuant to this chapter that is not required to obtain a franchise agreement pursuant to Chapter 5.04 of the Clark County Code will be two percent of gross revenues.

    (D)

    The guaranteed minimum specified in subsection (b)(1)(A) of this section shall be adjusted annually on April 1 of each year by the percentage, rounded to the nearest hundredth of a percent, of increase in the annual average of the Consumer Price Index - All Urban Consumers (U.S. City Average, All Items, Base Period: 1982-84=100, Not Seasonally Adjusted, Series ID: CUUR0000SA0, as published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics) between the most recent twelve-month period ending on December 31 as compared to the prior twelve-month period ending on December 31. The adjusted guaranteed minimum fee will be rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
