§ 6.10.090. Violations—Penalty.

  • Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or Chapter 8.24 of this code shall be subject to suspension, restriction, revocation or fine as set out in this code and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not more than six months, or by any combination of such fine and imprisonment. Whenever in this chapter any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, the doing of any such prohibited act or the failure to do any such required act shall constitute a violation of this chapter. Each day of any violation of this chapter shall constitute a separate offense.

    In addition to the above criminal penalty, any business which employs or hires a person who by any provision of the code is required to have a work identification card, but who does not have a current, valid work identification card as required, is subject to business license revocation or suspension.
