§ 22.22.020. Use of a qualified acoustical consultant.

  • In cases where materials included in a design do not have listed STC ratings acceptable to the building official, in order to verify compliance the plans and specifications accompanying the application for a building permit shall be certified by a qualified acoustical consultant as meeting the noise level reduction standards required in Chapter 29.51 of this code. Qualified consultants shall include members of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants and others who are approved by the building official, such approval being based on the demonstration of competence and credentials in the area of architectural acoustics.
