§ 20.12.020. Definitions.

  • As used in this chapter, unless the text otherwise requires:

    AIRFIELD. The term "airfield" means Nellis Air Force Base.

    FLIGHT HAZARD. The term "flight hazard" means any structure or tree or use of land which obstructs the airspace required for the flight of aircraft in landing or taking-off, at any airport, or is otherwise hazardous to such landing or taking-off of aircraft.

    NONCONFORMING USE. The term "nonconforming use" means any structure, natural growth, or use of land which does not conform to the regulations prescribed in this chapter, or any amendment thereto, as of the effective date of such regulations or amendment.

    PERSON. The term "person" means any individual, firm, copartnership, corporation, company, association, joint stock association, or body politic, and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee, or other similar representative thereof.

    STRUCTURE. The term "structure" means any object constructed or installed by man, including, but without limitation, buildings, towers, smokestacks, and overhead transmission lines.

    LANDING AREA. The term "landing area" means that part of the airfield that is used or intended to be used for landing and taking-off of aircraft.

    COMMISSION. The term "commission" means the Clark County Planning Commission.
