§ 15.30.070. Service charge.

  • (A) Upon the final approval by the fire chief of an application for a certificate of hazardous materials transport, the applicant shall pay a reasonable service charge according to a schedule to be adopted by the board of county commissioners after review of one year's operation. Until the service charge is established by the board of county commissioners, there will not be a charge for a certificate.

    (B)

    The service charge shall reflect the costs of emergency response preparation and the costs of issuing the certificates.

    (C)

    After a service charge has been established and upon receipt of such a service charge, the fire chief shall issue a certificate of hazardous materials transport and the service charge shall be deposited in a "Hazardous Materials Transport Emergency Preparedness Fund." Such funds shall be disbursed for purposes related to regulation of hazardous materials transportation, including, but not limited to, emergency response operations, administrative activities related to the program and other provisions of this chapter.
