§ 15.08.120. Driver's permit.

  • Any person desiring to secure employment as a taxicab driver or chauffeur in Clark County shall first file with the sheriff's office a written application for a license or permit to do so, on application forms to be prepared and to be made available by sheriff's office for such purpose. A filing and investigation fee of two dollars and fifty cents shall be payable at the time of filing said application, no part of which fee shall be refundable. The fee for such license or permit, if granted, shall be ten dollars. No recourse, however, shall be had by taxicab drivers who have already paid a greater filing and investigation fee prior to the adoption of this title. It is further provided that all such taxicab driver permits or licenses shall be permanent unless suspended or revoked with the exception of where a taxicab driver is out of the industry or the state for a period of one year or more, then, in such case, such driver shall be required to reapply for a new taxicab driver's badge.
