§ 14.60.170. School crossings.

  • (a) It is unlawful for any person at any regularly established school crossing to refuse or fail to comply with any lawful order, signal or direction of any person appointed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to control traffic at school crossings; provided that such person giving an order, signal or direction at such school crossing shall at the same time be wearing a distinctive garb or insignia indicating such appointment.

    (b)

    It is unlawful for any person driving or operating, propelling or causing to be propelled any vehicle to fail to stop not less than fifty feet in advance of the nearest side of a school pedestrian crossing lane where any signal device, flagman or other person is stationed and giving warning that children are about to or are crossing the street; and it is further declared to be unlawful to proceed until such signal has stopped, been raised or removed, or the flagman or person stationed at or in advance of such pedestrian lane has given a signal to go, or has left the locality.

    (c)

    It is unlawful for any person to direct or attempt to direct traffic at a school pedestrian crossing lane unless authorized to do so by the laws of the state of Nevada or the county of Clark.
