§ 14.16.040. Reports of garages and repair shops.

  • Any person in charge of any garage or repair shop in business for the commercial repair of motor vehicles or otherwise in the unincorporated areas of Clark County, or any person who repairs a motor vehicle in any place other than a garage or repair shop in the unincorporated area of Clark County, which vehicle, by nature of the repairs to be performed, shows evidence of having been involved in an accident or having been struck by a bullet shall file a written report with the office of the sheriff of Clark County, within twenty-four hours after such motor vehicle is received, and before repair work is commenced, designating the color, make, year, license and engine number of such vehicle and a brief description of the damage to such vehicle, and the name and address of the owner or operator of such vehicle, unless such damaged vehicle has, on the left lower front windshield, or on the left side window in the event the front windshield is destroyed a "damaged vehicle release" sticker placed therein by the office of the sheriff of Clark County or other law enforcement agency legally constituted to act in Clark County.

    Any person who fails to file such report as provided herein is guilty of a misdemeanor.
