§ 12.04.230. Discharging into unsafe locations unlawful—Exceptions.

It is unlawful to willfully discharge any firearm within or into that area described below, which, excepting the right-of-way corridors, are depicted by the shaded areas on the map labeled Attachment A, available for public inspection in the commission division office of the county clerk. The areas in the county where it is unlawful to willfully discharge a firearm, excluding shooting ranges and events sanctioned by federal, state, and county governments, are hereby designated as such because population density and use make discharge from and into such areas unsafe. They are generally located within the entire unincorporated towns of Whitney, Paradise, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor and Winchester, the urbanized areas of Lone Mountain and Enterprise, Goodsprings, Sandy Valley, Blue Diamond, Calico Basin, the area south of State Route 157 in Section 1 and all of Section 12, Township 19 South, Range 59 East, the proposed Apex Heavy Industry Zone, Las Vegas Dunes Recreation Area, the Sunrise Mountain Natural Area, Rainbow Gardens and the River Mountain area between Henderson and the Lake Mead Recreation Area north of Boulder Highway. The unlawful discharge areas further include right-of-way corridors located in unincorporated Clark County consisting of all areas in and within a distance of one-half mile of each edge of the roadway of every state highway, interstate highway, and U.S. highway, and all areas in and within 500 feet of any other public or private road, improved or maintained trail, and campground or picnic area, including but not limited to such areas designed at NAC 504.340.

Excepting the right-of-way corridors, the specific locations where, or into, it is unlawful to willfully discharge a firearm are legally described below. In the event that the general description conflicts with the specific legal description, the legal description shall be controlling.
